Laverne J. Hoffman, age 93, of Morristown died on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Plum House, Morristown.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown. Interment and military rites will be held at the Concordia Cemetery, North Morristown by the Morristown American Legion, Post #149.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also in the church for one hour prior to the services on Friday.

Laverne J., the son of William and Emma (Wegner) Hoffman was born on July 29, 1917 in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County. He married Ivagine "Ivy" Lembke on September 12, 1946 in Owatonna and she preceded him in death on January 14, 2010. Laverne served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II. and was a member of the Morristown American Legion, Post 149 for 71 years. He graduated from Dunwoody Institute as an electrician. He was employed by Geisler Electric, Nusbaum Electric and later owned and operated Hoffman Electric, Morristown for over 50 years. He is survived by two sons, David (and Karen) Hoffman and Duane Hoffman, all of Waterloo, IA; three granddaughters, Jennifer (and Bill) Snyder, Jaclyn (and Jeremy) Epperson and Kacie Hoffman; one grandson, Nicholas Hoffman; three great grandchildren, Claire Snyder, Mason and Avery Epperson; and a sister, Elveria (and Derold) Middlestadt of Owatonna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ivy; a son, Dennis Hoffman; and a brother, Gordon (and Lorraine) Hoffman.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cannon Valley Lutheran High School or American Legion Post 149 all of Morristown.
