Henry “Hank” Kalien, age 86 of Faribault, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at District One Hospital, Faribault.
         Funeral services will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend E.H. Eifert officiating.  Interment will be in Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.
         Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home on Saturday, March 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
         Henry A. was born to the late Charles and Minnie (Grohman) Kalien on December 12, 1922 on their farm in Shieldsville. He attended country school until the 8th grade, in the Cedar Lake area.  He married Margaret Sorgatz on May 17, 1945.  They lived in Shieldsville until they moved to Faribault in 1947.  In 1965, they moved to their 40-acre farm outside of Faribault.
         Henry worked as a cement truck driver for 40 years.  He was a farmer at heart and loved to work on his 40-acre hobby farm, since they moved outside of Faribault in 1965.  Henry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to go to auctions to hunt for treasures. His sense of humor and strength were inspiring to everyone who met him.
         He is survived by his children, Sharon (and Kenneth) Kiehne of Harmony and Kenneth (and Katie Enz) Kalien of Red Wing; grandchildren, Clinton Yocom of Rochester and Janice (and Nico Giraud) Kalien of Minneapolis; brother in law, Herman Trump of Faribault; two sisters in law, Shirley (and Harland) Davis and Violet Sorgatz of Faribault and nieces and nephews.
         He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; and three sisters.
