She attended school in Alma City and briefly worked for the Gardner Family in Janesville prior to marriage. On April 19, 1944, she married Roland Miller in Iosco, Waseca County and together they farmed in the Waterville and Morristown area.
An artistic soul, Lillian was an accomplished seamstress. She loved to paint and arrange flowers. She always enjoyed taking time out to have coffee and visit with others; and, whether they were from high school, college or the neighborhood, getting to know the “kids” held a special joy for her.
She is survived by four children, Glenn (and Kathy) Miller of Owatonna, Dale Miller of Hampton, Janeen Miller of Mapleton and Marlys Miller (and Tony Smick) of Madison, Wis; two grandsons, Chris Miller and Jake Weis of Owatonna; one sister, Esther Hinze of Reedsburg, Wis; one brother, Vincent (and Helen) Dumdei of St. Peter; and four sisters in law, Ronnie Dumdei of Bainbridge Island, Wash., Pat Dumdei of Janesville, Lila Dumdei of Sumner, Wash., and Jean Dumdei of Sioux Falls, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland on July 27, 2001; one sister, Sadie Martin and six brothers, Walter, Alvin, Ernest, Albert, Martin and Raymond Dumdei.

Jim and I would like to express our sympathy on the lose of your mother. I have fond memeories of both your mom and dad. As Jim and I are not blessed with grandchildren, I remember how your mom enjoyed our children before she got grandchilden of her own. Jim and I got a dog who I have have spoiled rotten. Maybe our kids knew how I would be if I got grandchildren and that's why we don't have any??? Lillian will always be a part of my past and hold a place in my heart. Jacqie

Although we only met a couple of times, Lillian left a memorable impression. You could tell the pride she took in her family and how they've grown over the years. She made friends of the family, like myself, feel as if we'd known each other for many years. She will be missed here on Earth, but her memory and legacy will live on in all who were fortunate enough to meet her, sample her recipes, and interact with any and all of the four Miller "kids" who model many of her wonderful and caring traits.
