Luverne L. Moldenhauer, age 77 of Morristown, died Monday, September 8, 2008 at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.
   Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Eugene C. Chase Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Morristown.
   Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Wednesday, September 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Members of American Legion Post 149 of Morristown will pay their respects at 6 p.m. at the Boldt Funeral Home on Wednesday and also provide military rites at the cemetery on Thursday.
   Luverne Lewis, the son of Emil and Alice E. (Johnson) Moldenhauer, was born August 18, 1931 in Byron Township, Waseca County, MN. He was baptized on November 29, 1931 at Bethlehem Lutheran in Morristown. Vern served in the Army during the Korean War. On December 29, 1970, he married Elaine Lange in Waseca. He was a mechanic for Bob & Donís Auto and later owned and operated Vernís Repair for over 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 149 at Morristown where he was formerly Commander and Chaplain; a long-time Boy Scout leader; and a member of the North Morristown Community Club. Luverne was dedicated to his church serving on the Finance Board and as Chairman of the congregation. He also was a Sunday school teacher and served on the Board of Christian Education. He was very involved in his community.
   He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Morristown; two siblings, Sara Moldenhauer of Waseca and Mickey Tibbits; special neighbors, Gerald and Ruth Gehrke and Robert and Amy Gehrke; and many other close friends and neighbors.
   Luverne was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Irene Sutlief and Arthur Moldenhauer.
   The family requests that any memorials be given to Cannon Valley Lutheran High School, Morristown or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
