Eleda was a great friend and a person who gave me a good deal of support. We were both members of Christ Lutheran Church. We would sit and have coffee after church and she would tell me about her family. I was the Veteran Service Officer for Rice County (2003-2005) until I was mobilized in 2005. She would drop in to my office in the courthouse just to chat and fill me in on her husbands military service and what life was like back in those years. I enjoyed our time together. Your Mother was truly a blessing. I am sorry that I cannot be present at the funeral but I am currently stationed in Missouri with the Army. My prayers are with your family during this time of sorrow.
I remember driving to your home up on the east side to pick up your son, Fred to go shoot some baskets or go out with Greg Kieffer to swin at the Shattuck beach on Cannon Lake back in the early 60's. You kept a warm and friendly home where I always felt welcome. My thoughts are with your family during the time of your soul's passing. I regret that I am not able to get to Faribault to be with your loved ones for the wake tonight. Just learned about your passing from an email from Greg Kieffer at 7:00 PM this evening. I have work committments here in the Twin Cities on Friday, and would welcome an opportunity to visit with your family Friday Evening or sometime Saturday-Sunday. I will be visiting friends in Lakeville and Northfield on Saturday early afternoon. Mobile phone in Twin Cities. 512 281 5230. Peace
Our condolences to Eleda's family. It was always nice visiting with her when we would get together for our monthly birthday celebrations. I got a little chuckle out of her Christmas card this year... It was preprinted with "Grandma Eleda" and she crossed it out and wrote in "OOPS".... She will be missed. Be at peace with your memories of her, for there, she will live on forever.
