Elsie A. (Mrs. Elmer) Schulz, age 86, of Faribault, died on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault with the Reverend Timothy Kinne and the Reverend Steven J. Kuehne, officiating. Interment will be held at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. also in the church for one hour prior to the services on Monday.

Elsie Anne, the daughter of John and Anna (Blasko) Surovi was born November 5,1923 at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She married Elmer R. Schulz on April 21,1946 at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Liberty High School, Bethlehem.

She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was employed as a secretary at Morris Black & Sons Building Supplies, Bethlehem; at the U.S. Treasury Department, Land Lease Division, Allentown, PA; and as manager of communications U.S. Navy Department, Inspection of Naval Material, Bethlehem Steel Company, Bethlehem.

She was involved in many volunteer activities in her church, at the Faribault Hospice program and at District One Hospital. In 1999 she was recognized as the Rice County Outstanding Senior Citizen for her long time service to the community.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer; two sons Larry (and Mary Jo) Schulz of Fergus Falls, Minnesota and Rev. Dr. Mark (and Nancy) Schulz of Overland Park, Kansas; one brother, John (and Beverly) Surovi of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Rebekah, Elizabeth and Bethany; one brother-in-law, Donald Himmelwright, Bethlehem and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, one sister, Dorothy, and one son, James Richard Schulz in 1957.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault or Faribault Area Hospice.
