    Betty M. (Mrs. Morris) Armbruster, age 82, of Faribault, died on Monday, November 30, 2009 at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.

    Funeral services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend David Brown, pastor of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

    Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Boldt Funeral Home.

    Betty May, the daughter of George E. and Margaret (Nunn) Simning, Sr., was born on June 5, 1927 in Vail Township, Redwood County and grew up in the Owatonna State Orphanage.  She married Morris F. Armbruster on October 7, 1950 in New Ulm.  He preceded her in death on November 26, 1998.  Betty was employed as a bookkeeper and she also managed apartment buildings with her husband. Betty loved to sew, play cards, cook and visit with her grand and great grandchildren.  Family was her real joy in life and she looked forward to every visit.

    She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (and Joseph) Purfeerst of Kilkenny and Mary Jo (and John) Giefer of Faribault; eight grandchildren, Jesse (and Amanda) Armbruster, Jeremy (and Samantha) Gehrke, Tony (and Abby) Gehrke, Heather Armbruster, Mike Giefer, David (and Kim) Purfeerst, Ashley Purfeerst (and Adam) and Alex Purfeerst; and five great grandchildren, McKayla Armbruster, Shauna, Kyle, Wyatt and Hanna Gehrke.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris; two sisters, Kathlene and Irene; and one brother, George Jr.
