Blake Michael Beske, age 14, of Faribault, died on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the North Memorial Medical Center, due to injuries sustained in a bicycle accident.

Funeral services will be held at First English Lutheran Church, Faribault on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Michael Mandsager officiating.  Interment will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Wednesday, June 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. and also at church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Blake Michael Beske, the son of Tamie Beske, was born April 8, 1996 in Northfield.  He attended Faribault Middle School and would have entered 9th grade in the fall.  Blake was very adventurous and a sports enthusiast.  He enjoyed playing football and baseball with his school teams, he was a taekwondo red belt and was a member of Faribault BMX racing. He was an avid fan of the Twins and Vikings. Blake enjoyed entertaining his very special little brother, Brady, with bike riding, fishing and video games.  He spent a lot of time with his special grandfather, Bob, fishing and then would go to great grandma Beske’s house to have a fish fry with their catch.  Blake also enjoyed music, cooking and shopping with his grandmother, Pam, whom he adored.  He attended several teen groups in Faribault and truly believed in the Lord.  He was close to his uncle, Tyler, whom he looked up to for advice.  He also gained great interest in old cars through his great uncle Mike.

Blake is survived by his mother, Tamie; his brother, Brady, his father, Dave DeGroot; one half sister, Abby DeGroot; two half brothers, Desmond Lemke and River Hand; maternal grandparents, Bob and Pam Beske; great grandmother, Margaret Wheeler Thompson; great grandmother, Vivian Syverson Beske; uncle Tyler (and Jolene) Beske; cousins Aubrey and Ava Beske all of Faribault; also uncles, aunts, other relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his great grandfathers, Rolland Beske and Richard Ronald Thompson, and great uncle Michael Patrick Thompson.

Blake was an organ donor, and the donor flag was raised along with the American flag in his honor at North Memorial Medical Center. He will enrich many lives with his gift and had told his family, it would be something he would want if anything ever happened to him.

Memories

Tamie I am sorry for the loss of you son. No mother should have to go through what you are. I remember when Tiffany used to watch him over the wkends. He was always good for Tiffany. It's hard to believe that I won't see him riding his bike around town any more. I am glad that he wanted his organs donated, he was always thinking of others. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Memories

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your son. Someone I know saw him when he arrived at North Memorial ER and said he was a handsome young man who obviously had been so full of life. Thank you for making the choice to share Blake through organ donation. It does not diminish your loss or grief but know that it makes such a huge difference to those who receive that very special gift. Those people will forever be grateful for your generosity at such a diffcult time.

Memories

I remember when Tamie worked with me and she would talk about Blake all the time and what he was doing for that day. He will be missed by many. I remember seeing him riding around town with his bike. The last time that I seen Blake was when he was bowling with his little brother and family. He seemed so happy to be there on a Saturday night with his family. I am sorry for your loss of your son. It will be a diffcult time. Always remember to lean on your friends and family thru this hard time. Tammy Williamette

Memories

I remember babysitting Blake when he was in 1st grade. I would get to his house early in the morning when Tamie left for work. I would have to wake Blake up to get ready for school. I had quite the time trying to get him up and going for the day. I would say funny things to him and he would respond by farting. He thought that was just hilarious. So then I came up with a nickname for him. I called him "little white butt" because of his little white underwear. We both thought that was so funny, and it always worked to get him out of bed in the morning. That was a good memory for all of us. I also remember Blake as being a very thoughtful and caring person. Everytime I would drop by, he would ask me how I was doing, and how my family was. If I would see him in a store or out and about somewhere, he would stop me, and we would small talk. Not very many kids his age would do that. There are so many good memories with Blake in them, that I could not possibly list them all. Blake will remain a special kid in my heart, and I will miss my one and only little white butt more than words could ever say.

To The Beske Family: I have fond memories of Blake throughout the years as one of Sage's constant friends. We had field trips together, he would come to some of her volleyball games, he was always a name spoken of in our household since they were in 4th grade together. Our prayers are with your family during this difficult time - always know your son is and was someone very special in my daughter's life as well as MANY, MANY others lives.
