Seeing him helping in the Gift store at Augustana. Compassion extended to the elderly and others Always kind and encouraging words about his wife Shelly As I would visit with him at the care center he always encouraged me with his gentle and kind spirit The last visit Brenda and I had with him at the care center we talked about eternity and being prepared to die. He than prayed and invited Jesus into his life. Tom than had the assurance of being with Jesus. This was only two weeks before He was taken home to be with Jesus.
Shelly, So sorry for your loss. Treasure the memories you and Tom shared the past few years. I know that Tom was blessed to have you by his side. I pray for strength to get you thru the tough times and as you move on. Love you, Denise
Shelly - So sorry your time with Tom was so short, but I know that he was sooo thankful that he met you and was able to spend the last few years with you by his side. I am sure that memories of your time together and knowing that he has joined the many others who are watching over you and wishing you the best for the rest of your life will help you move forward. I can imagine him giving Grandma Schmidt and others a big hug and meeting Mom up in heaven. God still has plans for you and your job is to move forward every day with his guidance and embrace whatever opportunities he brings you :) Wish I could be there in person. Please plan to come and visit us after the holidays (my treat) and enjoy some warm weather (Feb is when it usually starts warming up again here!) - but if you wnat to come sooner that would be fine too - not until the 22nd (we have other guests until then). Let me know and I will take some time off and we can spend time together doing whatever we want :)
Meeting a wonderful couple like you two was a pleasure!! You are in my daily thoughts and prayers.
