Visitation:   The Boldt Funeral Home
  Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and also on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Earl Ulrich, age 79 of Faribault, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.

Services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Dennis Tamke, pastor of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, Faribault, officiating. Interment will be at the Owatonna Memorial Gardens with military rites provided by Steele County Funeral Unit.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. and also for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Earl was the son of Emil and Lena (Dobberstein) Ulrich, Sr. and was born on September 28, 1932 in Cylinder, Iowa. He served in the U. S. Air Force and he married Darlene Mollenhauer 56 years ago on October 30, 1955 in Owatonna. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by City of Owatonna, Culligan Water Conditioning of Owatonna, Electro Plating of Albert Lea and MnDOT for almost 32 years. He enjoyed camping/RV’ing, gardening, old-tyme dancing and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; two children, Michael (and Kathy) Ulrich of Lino Lakes and Peggy (and Michael) Minarcik of Lakeville; six grandchildren, Eric Hetletvedt, Chris Hetletvedt, Emily (and Andy) Schraad, Joe Ulrich, Nick (and Crystal) Davis (Minarcik) and Ashley Davis (Minarcik); three great grandchildren, Peyton Schraad, Kailani Davis and Aidan Davis; eight siblings, Carl Ulrich of Owatonna, Herb (and Marge) Ulrich of Albert Lea, Fred (and Helen) Ulrich of Owatonna, Richard Ulrich of Dodge Center, Frank (and Kris) Ulrich of Pemberton, Ella (and Tilmer) Hanson of Medford, Anna Miller of New Prague and Mary Lou Bettin of Savage; two sisters in law, Delores and Doris Ulrich both of Owatonna; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings, Billy, George, Robert, Emil Jr., Hans Ulrich and Sally Castello.
