Verna Viola Voge Ring was born November 1, 1913 and passed away on August 1, 2013.  She was born on the family farm in Rice County, Minnesota.

A visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

She was married to O.H. (Bud) Ring in 1937, and until his death in 2003.  She was his constant companion and helpmate for nearly 66 years.  Where ever her husband's job took them from Minnesota to Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Texas, she was willing to move and set up home.  Verna was a devoted and loving wife, mother and Grammy.  She always had a quick laugh and loving smile.  Verna enjoyed life to the very end.  Her passions included playing bingo and listening to talking books provided by the Texas State Library.  She loved to paint and to sew quilts until her sight failed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ida Voge, and her siblings Earl Voge, Lula Cates, Art Voge and Dorothy Warrick.  Mrs. Ring is survived by her 3 children Donna Arnold, and husband, JD, of Tyler, her sons Richard Ring and wife, Leslie of Tyler, and Walt Ring and wife, Karen of Rowlett, and all of their families, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was a lifelong Methodist.  She was active in church activities where ever she lived.  Upon moving to Tyler in 2010, she immediately joined Marvin United Methodist Church. Even though she could not attend Sunday services, she always watched them on TV.  She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Minnesota and Y-Friends in Salina, Kansas.

Memorials may be sent to Texas State Library, Talking Books Program, P.O. Box 12516, Austin, Texas 78711-2515, or to charities of choice.
