Services: The Boldt Funeral Home ~ Faribault on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 3 p.m.
Visitation: The Boldt Funeral Home ~ Faribault for two hours prior to the services on Saturday.
   
   

 

Maureen L. (Mrs. Roger) Aaker, age 77, of Faribault died on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home.

Memorial services will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 3 p.m. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis at a later date.

A memorial visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday, May 16, 2015 for two hours prior to the service.

Maureen L., the daughter of George William and Doris Mabel (Hartwell) Pretty, was born on November 7, 1937 in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire, England. In 1994, Maureen became a citizen of the United States. Maureen was formerly employed by C J's and Mealey's Restaurant, both of Faribault. She was later employed by Hoffman Photography and Paul Swenson Photography, both of Faribault. Prior to her retirement in 2012, Maureen was manager of the cafeteria for 25 years at the Northfield Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.

She is survived by three children, David J. (and Lori) Aaker of Prior Lake, Lynn M. Aaker of Faribault, and Debra E. (and Charlie) Moline of Morristown; five grandchildren, Gabriel (and Kathryn) Purdie, Anna Aaker, Kristen Aaker (and special friend, Andrew Tindal), Sara Aaker (and fiance, Christopher Dietz), and Nathan Staupe; one great granddaughter, Kacidy Purdie; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Aaker; and three siblings, John (and Sandra) Pretty, Iris Winkle, and Joyce (and Ron) Martin, all of England.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; a daughter in infancy, Susan Margaret; a son, Roger "Skip" Aaker, Jr.; and siblings, Barbara Spokes, Ernie Pretty and Joan Ross.

The family of Maureen would like to give special thanks to Northfield Hospice and special friends, Vicki Locklier, Mary Johnson, and Corrine Roell.

I have many memories of sleepovers at Maureen and Rogers home as I was growing up with Deb and how we were all so welcomed and treated as their own. I remember we all called her mom.
