RICHARD "DICK" J. KLEMER
Richard "Dick" J. Klemer, age 88, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Faribault, UCC with the Reverend Jan Bodin officiating. Private interment will be held in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.
Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault. On Wednesday family will receive friends during a time of gathering and lunch in the Congregational Church Parish House.Richard J., the son of Frank and Eleanor (Jennings) Klemer was born on September 9, 1926 in Faribault. He graduated from Faribault High School in 1944 and the Philadelphia Textile Institute in 1950. Dick served in the U. S. Navy during W. W. II. He married Darlene Smith on February 14, 1953 in Faribault. He was president/CEO/owner of Faribault Woolen Mill Company. Dick enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, skiing and scuba diving. He was a private pilot.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Faribault; four children, Charles (and Dulce Havill) Klemer of Bandon, OR, Christine (and Steve) Wagner of Duluth, Tom (and Beverly) Klemer of Faribault, and David (and Jody) Klemer of Owatonna; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Klemer; siblings, Mary Kiesau, Betty Shingle, and Robert Klemer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts may be directed to the River Bend Nature Center, the Congregational Church of Faribault, Paradise Center for the Arts, or donor's choice.
